Sociedad y Ambiente (Society and Environment) is a scientific journal that seeks to contribute to the understanding of socio-environmental issues related to the impact of human activities on the natural environment, as well as the effects of environmental changes on social and cultural conformation, whether from historical, contemporary or prospective perspectives.

Sociedad y Ambiente publishes articles, essays and critical reviews of books, related to the topics of interest of the journal. Both articles and essays undergo a double-blind peer review process. We publish texts in both Spanish and English, under a Continuous Publication and Open Access model without extra costs for editorial services. It is a publication edited and financed by El Colegio de la Frontera Sur, a public research center attached to the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) of Mexico.
