Resumen
Este artículo analiza la construcción social del ambiente en comunidades indígenas de la Amazonía ecuatoriana (kichwa, shuar, cofán y siekopai), como resultado de la interacción entre procesos estructurales y prácticas locales que configuran las relaciones con el ambiente. En este marco, los factores mediadores —infraestructura vial, acceso a mercados, intervención estatal y actividades extractivas— actúan como mecanismos a través de los cuales estas dimensiones se articulan, incidiendo en los medios de vida y en el uso de los recursos naturales. Se evaluó comparativamente cómo las trayectorias territoriales y los factores mediadores configuran estas transformaciones. Se trata de una investigación longitudinal (2001, 2012 y 2019) realizada mediante un enfoque temático y comparativo. Se muestra que las transformaciones socioambientales no son homogéneas; estas responden a la interacción entre trayectorias territoriales y factores mediadores reconfigurando los medios de vida, el uso de los recursos y la organización social, lo que genera efectos ambivalentes: amplían el acceso a bienes y servicios, pero también los conflictos internos y la pérdida de autonomía. Se evidencia que la construcción social del ambiente se configura de manera diferenciada, planteando la necesidad de reconocer la diversidad socioterritorial de las comunidades indígenas amazónicas en el análisis de sus transformaciones.
