Objective and scope

Sociedad y Ambiente is a peer-reviewed, open-access, non-commercial academic journal published annually and continuously. It is published by El Colegio de la Frontera Sur, a Public Research Center belonging to the Secretaría de Ciencia, Humanidades, Tecnología e Innovación of Mexico.
 
The journal aims to contribute to understanding socio-environmental problems from human impacts on the natural environment, as well as the effects of environmental changes on social and cultural development, from historical, contemporary, and prospective perspectives. Its themes are primarily based on the social and natural sciences and encompass various lines of research framed by the Editorial Committee's specialties.
 
The journal scope is the dissemination of socio-environmental research results through original research articles and critical reflection through academic essays and book reviews. It is directed to undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, and various sectors of society in the socio-environmental agenda, both nationally and throughout Latin America.
